MOLD REMEDIATION:
Mold has become a serious issue among hospitals, schools, building owners, real estate agents, and others responsible for the well being of visitors, tenants, and employees. The effects can run from a mild runny nose and watery eyes, to severe memory loss. In small children and individuals with compromised immune systems it can even be deadly.
Mold spores can be found virtually everywhere and there are no clearly defined guidelines from the epa or osha - making it difficult at times to draw a line at the presence and severity of any health hazards due to mold.
Factors that determine if a problem exists are the types and amounts of mold found. Mold can be found naturally migrating into an environment with normal traffic, or it can be found growing in a dark, damp corner or above a ceiling causing damage as well as adverse reactions to occupants.
In addition to mold remediation, BC Environmental inc. (BCE) personnel are trained and licensed to handle various types of hazardous materials including asbestos, lead, and hazardous chemicals and products. We pride ourselves in offering specific recommendations for remediation without using scare tactics or spreading unnecessary panic.
BCE welcomes the opportunity to evaluate your facility’s mold-related needs by offering a full turnkey approach - from investigation and identification to safe and efficient removal and clean up.
BCE can provide a number of different types of sampling strategies, including:
- Air-o-cell cassette samples that identify mold species, insect parts, pollen and other airborne particulates
- Tape lift samples that specify what the visible particulate is made up of
- Swab samples to identify mold and bacteria that are not visible
- Anderson air samples that identify viable molds by pulling air directly through a special petri dish
- Bulk samples to identify contaminants on different building materials
